Associate Holidays (US & London)
I did search for the answer, but couldn't find anything.
How many days holiday does one get in M&A/CorpFin/Capital Markets as a First-Year or Second-Year Associate in a) US and b) London?
Does it get much better as VP and further on? Thanks.

Depending on the bank, about 22-23 days in London. That doesn't mean that you'll be able to take 23 working days off in any calendar year. Banks add an extra day per year for every 3-5 years with the bank up to a max of about 30. The system varies, but, generally, the more time you spend with a bank, the more days off you get ... in theory.

For NY analysts, there aren't any holidays written into the contract. Similarly so for associates, from what I heard. Is this the standard for all BBs or am I being shortchanged?

25 Days - London....and i'm actually encouraged to take them. It all depends on country laws. My counterparts in the NYC get 10 days and don't really take them.
I also know that in canada you are entitled to 2 weeks only after you finish one whole year.

25 days in London for analysts and associates. You're meant to take a two week block in the summer though. I don't think many people end up using the full allowance, just take a long weekend here and there as well as some time off at Christmas.
Same for me - 25 days -

That bad? as oconnor stated above....it is highly encouraged at a lot of banks to take your full holidays! Maybe a move to London would be advised lol!
