Non-Target 2019 SA Interviews
Hey guys,
Sophomore at non-target here. Would love to hear from other non-targets that have already landed interviews for 2019 SA. Did y'all hear from your alumni or did y'all get the interviews through the official career portal? I've been networking my ass off and making a NY trip soon but no interviews yet.

Got interview through school recruiting portal (non-target with a decent amount of Handshake postings), took quite a bit of networking. The one firm that has interviewed so far, we are a Target for, the rest haven't yet started their interviews yet.
Mostly got my interviews through networking. We had on-campus interviews with Deutsche that recruits here (got an offer from that), and have a super day this Friday at Guggenheim from networking.
There are a few kids who got through the Early process with Goldman through networking. As far as I'm aware, if you weren't talking to any of those banks, then it would make sense that you haven't had an interview yet -- since they're the earliest recruiters out there rn.

Bump. Anyone have an idea of which BB/EBs are doing non-target recruiting now?
Or is it just a free for all at this point - network hard and hope for referrals?
think it might be more of a free for all. Def at EB's cuz they won't have dedicated recruiting teams for non-targets only targets/semis due to small class sizes. BB's might be a bit more structured. Regardless you will need to network hard and get referrals. It's hard to read through thousands of apps so they gotta go with the kids that have referrals. Good luck!
It looks like a free for all. I'm at a non/semi target and alumni seem to be the only way into the process. Recruiting seems disorganized as alumni aren't even positive what their timelines are.
What's the best course of action for EBs where there are no alumni to connect with?
Whats the best way to get referalls/connections from alumni at target firms? Linked in alumni feature?

Hello everyone. I was asked for a phone interview with one of the BB i-bank for summer intern. I am freaking out. It is for CDP.
They asked me where i wanted to work and i said I-Banking or Sales & Trading. I am not a finance major so this is a new territory for me. I am not used to finance interviews. Someone please help me out, i will forever be grateful to you!
What can i expect in the phone interview? Strictly behavioral questions?
If i get through the phone interview, what can i expect in the in-person interview? Technical questions?
by the way, i've been on this site for about 3-4 months and i've picked up some of the jargon. I've watched few videos that wso mentors post which have been really helpful.
