Blackstone Interview: anyone worked here or interviewed?

I'm planning on meeting with some HR people from the Blackstone Group in Boston tomorrow. I know a little bit about the company already and will obviously be doing a lot more research tonight but I'd really appreciate anything anyone can tell me that will help me tomorrow. Has anybody worked there or interviewed with them that can tell me what it's generally like? Anything and everything is appreciated.

If you're an undergrad I'd be wary if you're considering looking into an SA position. I'm a top target and a kid I know here was an absolute stud going through college: rockstar resume, interned at a tier 1 BB IBD sophmore summer etc. and then did his junior summer at Blackstone. He wound up not getting an offer, and this "no offer" business dinged him so badly he didn't even get one BB offer for full-time when senior year rolled around.

This was the same kid who beat out practically everyone in his class as a sophmore and many people a grade above him, now on the sidelines as kids with no IB experience whatsoever got full-times and he didn't get shit because Blackstone didn't offer him. I'd seriously look into what their summer offer rate is and consider if one summer at such a huge brand name is worth the risk of getting blown out of the business. Anybody else know about this?

well i'm only a sophomore right now. Also at a target and this very well just may be a stepping stone for me assuming i am offered a position which of course i'm going to call a BIG if at the moment. so I'm not so worried about being blown out of the business just yet.

The best part about this is i don't really know what i'm interviwing for. Got a call from my dad telling me to call someone in the morning. He mentioned mutual funds though...

Are you sure you're talking about Blackstone and not BlackRock?

Exactly. Might want to confirm that, because you'll look stupid if you ask about how the IPO will help the company. They'll probably feel like the Penn kids when you comment on what a great coach Joe Paterno was; and they don't like that feeling.
