Corporate Dev from a MM Player?
What's the best way to get into a corporate development role with a decent company from a decent MM bank? I'm talking a player like Jefferies, Thomas Weisel, William Blair, Cowen, etc. We don't really deal with large companies often, so it's not like I'd work with a company with a large corpdev unit to make contacts and transfer into. I know for the buyside, the best way to get interviews is by having your MD use his contacts; is this the same for corpdev? What if he has no solid contacts at these firms?
Anyone? Just trying to find out the HOW on getting into corpdev after two years. Through headhunters?
I interviewed for a Corp Dev position at a diversified holding company through Glocap a year ago.

Thanks for the response. Did Glocap contact you regarding exit ops, or did you contact them? I have a feeling that there won't be too many HHs contacting me at the regional, MM office that I work in.
