Dealmaven Fasttrack
I just moved to a firm without Fasttrack for Excel and I would rather not buy it ($300 is a little much). Does anyone know of any excel add-in Macro anything that can do the smart trace precedents style functionality.

You should at least ask if you can expense the Fasttrack purchase - from your employer's perspective there is no question that Fasttrack is worth the cost.

My earlier advice came from having dealt with the exact same situation.
When I transitioned to PE, Fasttrack was not a standard add-on at my firm. I asked HR if I could expense a copy and they agreed it was fine (since the amount is peanuts compared to your actual comp). The rest of my associate class followed suit - the add-on is now standard for our current first-year class.
