Dealmaven FastTrack Macros
I don't know if these are widely used, but when I was in banking I loved them. They allowed you to track all cell precedents and dependants, format, etc and I loved them. Upon my move to Private equity a few years back I was able to obtain a version of them from Dealmaven which they provided an activation code. I recently got a new computer at work and the activation code is invalid and dealmaven is now part of factset and they will not release any more activation codes for legacy dealmaven products. Does anyone by chance have an unlocked version of these macros that you could send my way????
Thanks in Advance,
no but i have TTS macros that work just as good and do the same thing.... just maybe different key strokes
I have old TTS macros as well, but the biggest thing is you can't create custome formatting macros AND there is no macro to view cell precedents and dependants like the "dealmaven smart precedent"... Does the new TTS macros have these functionality?
I have just placed a call into FACTSET. I am a past user/subscriber to DealMaven. I obtained my subscription as an individual, a lifetime subscription.
Since the acquisition by FACTSET, my Add-in's have dropped. I can no longer use the Modeling ToolPack or the FastTrack [smart precedents/dependents, etc.]
Anyone know if I will have any luck with FACTSET getting my lifetime subscription to be honored? Anyone have any advice, suggestions?
I don't have any of my original T&C from the purchase I made, so I am liable to get screwed over here and thought I would reach out.

I have the eval version of DeavMaven shortcuts that will work for 60 days and then prompt for activation.
Ping me (or send me an email) if you would like a copy
I just saw your post and would appreciate a copy.
Has anyone else figured out any other ways to get the add-in back? I lost mine recently and FactSet won't honor my lifetime subscription.
Hi - would you be able to send me a copy of the Deal Maven eval version? If so please send my way to [email protected] - pretty painful as I just got new computer and can't transfer it.
Thanks!!! JS
My recommendation is to use simpleshortcuts, it has more functionality then TTS and almost as much as fasttrack. Plus its free and available for both excel 2003 and 2007.

You can also use the free Macabacus Macros, which contain keyboard shortcuts very similar to those used by DealMaven. You can download it from http://www.macabacus.com/excel/macros.
Dealmaven Fasttrack (Originally Posted: 09/28/2007)
I just moved to a firm without Fasttrack for Excel and I would rather not buy it ($300 is a little much). Does anyone know of any excel add-in Macro anything that can do the smart trace precedents style functionality.
I do not, but I have no idea how you are living without it.
You should at least ask if you can expense the Fasttrack purchase - from your employer's perspective there is no question that Fasttrack is worth the cost.
Come on guys, someone has to have dealt with this before.
My earlier advice came from having dealt with the exact same situation.
When I transitioned to PE, Fasttrack was not a standard add-on at my firm. I asked HR if I could expense a copy and they agreed it was fine (since the amount is peanuts compared to your actual comp). The rest of my associate class followed suit - the add-on is now standard for our current first-year class.
SimpleShortcuts probably does most of what you need and is free to download. http://www.simpleshortcuts.net/
Thank you for the tip. I downloaded the Simple shortcuts; it's very useful.
