Career Crossroads

I recently started a MM IB Analyst role, and so far it's not really what I expected. I come from an FP&A background (about 2 YOE) and enjoyed the data analysis/system building/automation aspects of the job. I didn't realize that at junior levels IB is super PPTX heavy with somewhat limited Excel.
It's also been difficult because I was used to having a lot more free time, as I worked 30-40 hours and had 2 WFH days. Average now has been about 70-80 hours which I know is relatively light and will get worse.

The interesting thing is that my old company's Director reached out and let me know he's poised to be the CFO of a spin-off being created, and he'd like me to be part of his team. Hours would be a bit heavier than before, but the position would provide work more closely related to my skillset, along with much better WLB.
TC would be about 110 base + 15-30% in a LCOL. Current comp in IB is the same base with a 50% bonus.

I'm conflicted because I know IB provides great exits and learning opps, but on the other hand this new opportunity would provide visibility, different type of learning, and the more balanced life I was used to.
Just wanted to ask for some perspective & advice.

I would take it. Exit opps from MM IB are becoming decreasingly desirable and this seems like solid gig under someone who values you.
