Desperate Situation. Need to find something for the summer!

A little bit of background: Freshman at a non-Target school in the NYC area. Economics major/4.0 GPA.

I honestly am looking for a Back Office summer position and nothing more. I applied online, tried networking through my HS contacts and college alumni. My mentor in college is a MD at GS/MS--heck I even tried that route, but nothing came out of that. Most places tell me that they don't take Freshmen. But non-target seniors make it FO sometimes and all I want is a BO summer gig.

It might already be too late, but is there anything I can do now? Anything in finance will do.

What about those people who change the ink-cartridges for FO people? How do you get hired for that?

All jokes aside, any ideas about what I can do to find something for this summer?

PWM, just remember you aren't entitled to anything. "you just want" means nothing.

The answer to your question is 1) network 2) get involved 3) beef up your resume 4) repeat -happypantsmcgee WSO is not your personal search function.

JeffSkillingYou're applying to the wrong stuff, PWM is one of your few options.

lmao I tried this in my 2nd year. Just walked into the firm, asked the lady in the front where I could hand in my resume and she just had this stunned look on her face. "Sir, no, please submit it online. I'm sure your university has an online job posting board, please do it through that. Not here..."

now looking back on it, I actually landed an interview at their place but it must have been a conincident because I never gave her my name

Put on a suit, print out copies of your resume on nice paper, walk into a few name brand pwm shops, and hand them out. You will be lightyears ahead of most freshmen.

Money Never Sleeps? More like Money Never SUCKS amirite?!?!?!?
