Disk Jockey on Resume
Alright, So I did a couple of searches on this and could not find a lot of information on this topic. Should I put "Disk Jockeying" under Activities and Interests on my resume? I do it in my spare time, but I am not sure if it would look good on my resume. Any thoughts/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Put it on there. Each group needs someone to spin tunes during late night work sessions. If the group you're interviewing for doesn't currently have one, it could give you a big leg up.
(serious answer: it really doesn't matter. It's unlikely to help or hurt you, really up to you).
I figured it wouldnt help me. But I just wanted to make sure it would not hurt my chances. Thanks
It should not hurt as long as it's in the hobbies/interests section. Just don't mention the type of music you play, since that might hurt you.
Not really. I put very specific things I enjoy (eg. 1800s french literature, not saying I like it lol just trying to illustrate) and interviewers were genuinely interested as to why I enjoyed it.
Be honest, don't bullshit and who knows, you might have something in common with the analyst looking over the resume book.
Can't hurt. Probably won't make you stand out unless you own your own equipment and DJ as a real business, but its fine as an interest.
If you spell "disc" wrong you'll probably look like an asshole. Won't matter too much other than that. Added points for having a skrillex haircut to your interviews
You're golden
