Entry Level MBA seeking Financial Analyst position

My name is John
-recieved my undergrad in Econ/Finance in May '11
-about to get my MBA from Widener (unknown private school near Philly) the end of July '12
-3.5 GPA in the program with little expierence. I ahve
-worked at TD Bank for 2 years but that was in the actual branch as a Customer Service Rep.
- Philadelphia area

I really would like to become a Financial Analyst, I am very good with numbers and aced all of my Investments, Forecasting and Analysis classes. I am looking into corporate finance because I feel like it would be much harder to break into Front office with an unknown school without major connections (don’t get me wrong I am trying all everything I can) but just being more realistic. I am very willing to learn any new system or be trained.

I am looking for any kind of help with direction when it comes to applying for jobs or where is best to find them. I have been doing a lot of searching on Linkedin and got a few interviews it just seems there are not many Entry Level FA positions available. The most recent was a salary about 45K which I thought/informed was rather low even for a small non finance company.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Well, Widener is at least AACSB certified which is a huge plus. Entry level FA jobs usually should pay, depending on city, around 50-55. Sr. Level, you can get up to $75. corporate finance, which is my background I find very boring. Usually you are just doing spreadsheet analysis for your manager because he can't use excel all that great.

Realistically, you might want to look into finding a good recruiter to get you placed in the right role to grow your career.

Good luck.

Yeah I know it can be a little boring but I figured I can learn all the basics while getting a few years experience there before I move on.

But Thanks for the insight, Ill be sure to continue to network and find a good recruiter.
