Excuse me for being extremely clueless
Ok so basically i am very naive and wanted more insight into what a management consultant does. I have been combing through the internet and have a basic idea. I get that to get hired into the "MBB" it is typically the elite of the elite. I was curious on how competitive it is compared to IB and what kind of special skills and proficiencies are needed. How competitive it is getting hired into somewhere like Deloitte or PwC? How are consultants looked upon on the street prestige wise? And how does the compensation compare to IB?Thanks for your help to a clueless noob!
Based on these questions - you clearly haven't. All these questions have been asked (and answered well) on this website multiple times. I hate being ithat guy[/i], but really - do your research. If you can't Google/research/whatever-else enough to learn enough about something you don't know about by yourself - consulting is clearly not for you.
Make less $ than IB. Work less than IB. IMO consulting would be boring...didn't enjoy those classes at all.
ok.
Check out www.managementconsulted.com. There is a TON of content on there that will really give you an idea of the type of work, what it takes to get in, and what the pay structure is like.
