GMAT Pill is a garbage platform, and WSO shouldn't endorse them

I purchased access to the GMAT Pill platform at WSO's endorsement of the product, and feel that the program quality falls severely behind other options in terms of the video lesson quality, the quality of the tools themselves, and the overall management of the company.

This exposes itself in my scores. Using GMAT pill, I raised my score from 640 to 680--an improvement, but not what I wanted. I then switched from GMAT pill to another company and raised my score from a 680 to a 740--a higher point improvement on a third take, which is unheard of among most test-takers. I attribute this almost completely to the quality of my lessons through a different program vs GMAT pill.

Issues with GMAT Pill range across many areas, including the site's recommended study scheduling, lesson content, and the technical infrastructure that the site tries to name as a selling point but falls flat with execution. To summarize, GMAT Pill is a garbage platform with an unresponsive customer support system and I caution any of WSO's readers from using it.

I have listed the issues I encountered with GMAT pill below. These are the same issues that I have tried to raise with the founder / owner, Zeke, and have since FOLLOWED UP 4 TIMES requesting a refund through his 50-point improvement guarantee and have not received a single response.

TECHNICAL ISSUES (SITE / APP)

  1. The website frequently logs a user out of the app mid-use.

  2. The app frequently crashes, which would log me out of the tool, requiring me to log in again (if I had WiFi). If I was on a flight and couldn't get back into a wifi network, I was SOL in trying to watch videos

  3. Downloaded videos for offline usage (the main reason I purchased the app) would often self-delete, corresponding with an app crash, so I would board a flight and then be unable to review lessons.

  4. These issues combined to make what should be an immersive study experience an experience where I was frequently fixing crashes, logging back in, or otherwise trying to navigate inconsistent guidance, and reduces the quality of study received.

CONTENT ISSUES (LESSONS / FORMAT)

  1. The study schedules from the videos and the GMAT Pill book do not address the same timeline, what is "Day 7" on one tool may be "Day 10" on another, or a certain lesson section may last for two days while receiving a recommended allocation of three days in the tool. This inconsistent orientation of the review tool sets a user up for a confusing experience from the start.

  2. The "Practice Pill" which pulls from the Official Guide is not sufficient. The videos reviewing practice questions do not even show the complete question (literally you would look at a triangle without any words under it). This is because Zeke doesn't have authority to work through OG problems, and doesn't make his own review questions. To review questions, users would have to purchase and access the corresponding question in the GMAT Official Guide. When I am on a flight with limited space, I wanted to be able to review practice questions without being forced to reference another resource. This requirement, which was not disclosed to be missing question content when I purchased the platform, was a major hindrance to practice.

  3. This tool appears to have a major orientation towards improving verbal scores, while I needed quant support the most. I found the quant lessons to not follow a consistent, linear format for improvement, instead providing highly disjointed videos in which math fundamentals are never covered.

  4. This will sound rude, but the narration is terrible. Just listen to his introduction videos and you can tell that Zeke's voice is incredibly annoying, and it seems like almost every video narration was made as a first take without a script. You often hear him stutter, take long pauses, take a major math step in problem solving without describing what he is doing, or just incorrectly narrate what is going on in the screen (misstating numbers, units, etc).

Based on my experience, I do recommend this platform to anyone, and am disappointed that Zeke never responded to any of the feedback I provided. Other programs offer higher-quality services at lower prices. I am not only saying this to settle a score, the differences in quality have materialized through my test scores and I hope that other WSO users don't waste money on this program.

Patrick, I'm sorry to say this on your site because I know you partner with GMAT Pill, but the tool really is not in line with what WSO should offer to its users. I've been on this site for many years, and have purchased guides from you in the past and been pleased with their quality. GMAT Pill is just not up to par with WSO's standards.
