Goals
So Im moving to nyc on sunday and I was transferring a bunch of files to my external hard drive when i came across a file labeled "goals 2007". So i opened it and looked it over and i ended up achieving 7 of the 9 goals that I had set out for myself.
I was curious as to if anyone here has done the same and has written goals. Sure we are all motivated people atleast about our careers otherwise we wouldnt use this forum, but how many of you actually take the time to write out goals for yourself. Are there something that is just subconsciously there or do you write them down.
Sort of a strange subject but I was curious as to other users and how they handled this.

I write goals, but I usually
I write goals, but I usually find it very hard to stick to them. Instead of referring to them every day, usually I forget about them in about a week. I feel like if I would refer to them every day it would make a big difference.
I also wrote out a mission statement for myself, which is sort of like a constitution for the kind of person I want to be.
Every once in a while I find
Every once in a while I find stuff like that. I always realize that the person I was 6 months ago would have hated the person I've become. That's why we live in the present
:-P
I always have one or two
I always have one or two major 5 year goals, which I think about quite a lot and thus don't generally forget about. Writing them down is definitely something I have been known to do, even posting them on my wall to keep me motivated. So when I need to make a major strategic decision about my academic, professional or personal life, that longer view helps me maintain the appropriate perspective.
I avoid major short term goals unless they clearly complement or are definite prerequisites for achievement of my long term goals.
