GPA for Harvard 2+2
Like countless others, I'm applying to 2+2. I have a pretty standard background, but a horrible (for hbs) gpa. I have a 3.5 overall, but my gpa has literally improved every semester. Should I apply this summer or wait until I can include grades from my senior fall?
Other information:
Female rising senior at HYPSM, studying math and a social science
GPA: 3.5, 3.7 in math, 3.9 in social science
GMAT/GRE: I'm taking both and am expecting strong scores (750+ on GMAT).
4-year varsity athlete
Volunteer/leadership position with business-related nonprofit
I spent my freshman summer working in consulting abroad. Last summer I worked in a top-ranked sell-side equity research group, and I'll be returning this summer. I hope to work in equity research after graduation, and then make the jump to industry after business school.
When do you think I should apply? Do I even stand a shot with my GPA?

A 3.5 target GPA is good
A 3.5 target GPA is good enough academically. You can do it. 2+2 entry req isnt as intense as plain MBA.

I'm confused. Isnt ER "industry" enough?

Isn't 2+2 intended for non-business students? From what I've heard, next to no one gets accepted to 2+2 with a traditional business background.

Ahhh...hence all the "diverse" talk. Sucks for OP then.

I think he means jump from ER to industry that he's been covering.

They changed it a few years ago. Now business majors and IBD SA's get in pretty regularly. In fact, one of the two 2+2 admits from Columbia in the last cycle had two BB SA internships prior to applying and was an Economics major.
OP, will you have a 3.7-ish GPA if you apply by the second round? If so, that would increase your chances tremendously. Harvard is very GPA-centric, especially 2+2, where just the average, I believe, is a 3.76.
