Had a superday with HL Corp Fin (M&A) earlier this week in the ADG group (Aerospace Defense & Government). When I arrived they sat me down for an hour-long written test, and not gonna lie it was rough. I've never had to take a written test for any interview I've ever had before, and neither have any of my friends who now work at GS, CV, LZ, etc... So watch out for that. I had heard HL was intense on the techs, but damn. I'd say I was well prepared, and had never had a problem before, but this was a whole other level. After that I had the usual 5 back-to-backs, and basically just talked about my background and asked questions. All the guys I talked to were super chill, and I guess because of the test they just stuck to personality stuff, on the plus side.
@TeddyBroosevelt was it a superday for DC office?
Yeah it was
Beny23, stop freaking out. You made like 16 threads about the same topics recently. Nobody likes a try-hard. Just know the technical stuff (from the usual guides), be likeable, smile and think before you answer. Calm down, you will be fine.
This guy actually never gives out SBs for help at all. No wonder everyone hates him on this forum.
You don't know what you are talking about @Magneton Just read couple of my threads and see for yourself that I give most of my SBs to people who respond to my questions. You've never contributed so don't be surprised you did not get any.
lol you went and SB'd people right after I posted - good job. So why does everyone hate you on this forum? Is it because you picked bulbasaur as a starter?
Does anybody know about Houlihan FAS?? What kind of exit ops would you have as an analyst? would it be possible to move to another group at HL(rx/corp fin) or a MM/BB IB role?
Houlihan Lokey Superday insights, preparation for interviews? (Originally Posted: 09/25/2011)
I have a HL superday coming up in the next few weeks. Any insight on the process there? Anything I should be especially prepared for? First round was completely technical. Any help is much appreciated.
PM sent.
I have a superday this coming weekend with HL as well. However, my first round was not technical at all. It's for Corporate Finance. Can anyone chime in with what you think the superday will be like? Thanks.
What office?
I have an HL superday coming up soon in dallas. any insight?

I'm going to HL's superday this Friday. Anyone gone through this process before and have any tips/advice? I've gone through two superdays so far, but I know every bank is different. Appreciate any feedback
Which office bro? What position dude?
Yeah which office?
Dallas
Corp fin? FAS? Restructuring? Analyst/associate? You're really not being helpful dude. Give us some deets and we can give you some better advice. I know some guys in corp fin. down there but I'm not going to go over it if it's not relevant to you. We need some meat dog!
Sorry, you're right I didn't give many details. Yeah it's with their CF group down here in Dallas this Friday for an analyst position. They're looking to hire 1-2 analysts this year, possibly 3 if they find some real studs.

Has anyone recently been to a superday at Houlihan Lokey's Washington, D.C. (Tyson's Corner) office?
And if so, have you been notified about if you're getting an offer or have any idea on their timeline?
i interviewed with them for a FT position in the past. they're very quick on the turnaround (i.e. i interviewed Friday morning til around 3 or 4 in the afternoon, got home, went out to dinner and received the call at dinner)
bump
still no word from HL, they are really slow I had superday on Feb 3 for HL CorpFin NYC
Sorry to break it to you, but offers have already gone out.
Renegade, do you know that for the DC office for sure or just for NY? I am assuming they have but didn't know if there was a wait list or if everyone ha already accepted
Sorry meant to address my last post to Shadow
i would suspect that offers for the DC office have already gone out as well. the exploding offer period is about 2 weeks if i recall, so you're probably on a waitlist at this point if you haven't heard already.
Alright that is kind of what I assumed. I appreciate the info everyone
HLHZ Superday (Originally Posted: 10/04/2006)
I had a phone interview with HLHZ's Chicago office earlier this week and have been invited to a superday (and a dinner the night before) in Chicago in a couple weeks (they actually told me I could either do it this weekend or two weeks from now). I was wondering if anyone else has attended an HLHZ superday (at any of the locations), and if so, would you share about your experience and/or what you think I should expect.
Thanks for the help.
Did not interview with HLZ, but take the earlier superday as there will be more spots and they will be less likely to ax you.
Wasn't aware that their Chicago office housed Healthcare and can't speak to that group, but generally very intelligent guys, great people. Lots of dealflow providing for a very good experience with a lot of responsibility.
Probably nothing out of the ordinary in terms of banking interviews, no brain teasers or stupid shit like that. They'll probably give you a technical interview and several background/fit interviews, and the technical exam.
Which industry group are you interested in joining?
I'm most interested in Healthcare
I have a phone interview tomorrow. What types of questions should I expect?
I imagine it varies significantly from group to office to level, but generally first interviews are much more fit than technical.
Learn as much as you can abuot the firm so you can at least appear to be enthusiatic about it.
Good luck.
I was guided to expect either a Chicago office visit next week or participate in the upcoming Super Friday in a few weeks. As I'm an experienced candidate (1st year associate in corporate finance, valuations). Any advice on how to prepare?
