Had a superday with HL Corp Fin (M&A) earlier this week in the ADG group (Aerospace Defense & Government). When I arrived they sat me down for an hour-long written test, and not gonna lie it was rough. I've never had to take a written test for any interview I've ever had before, and neither have any of my friends who now work at GS, CV, LZ, etc... So watch out for that. I had heard HL was intense on the techs, but damn. I'd say I was well prepared, and had never had a problem before, but this was a whole other level. After that I had the usual 5 back-to-backs, and basically just talked about my background and asked questions. All the guys I talked to were super chill, and I guess because of the test they just stuck to personality stuff, on the plus side.

You don't know what you are talking about @Magneton Just read couple of my threads and see for yourself that I give most of my SBs to people who respond to my questions. You've never contributed so don't be surprised you did not get any.

lol you went and SB'd people right after I posted - good job. So why does everyone hate you on this forum? Is it because you picked bulbasaur as a starter?

Sorry, you're right I didn't give many details. Yeah it's with their CF group down here in Dallas this Friday for an analyst position. They're looking to hire 1-2 analysts this year, possibly 3 if they find some real studs.

Renegade2165still no word from HL, they are really slow I had superday on Feb 3 for HL CorpFin NYC

Sorry to break it to you, but offers have already gone out.

Wasn't aware that their Chicago office housed Healthcare and can't speak to that group, but generally very intelligent guys, great people. Lots of dealflow providing for a very good experience with a lot of responsibility.

Probably nothing out of the ordinary in terms of banking interviews, no brain teasers or stupid shit like that. They'll probably give you a technical interview and several background/fit interviews, and the technical exam.

I imagine it varies significantly from group to office to level, but generally first interviews are much more fit than technical.

Learn as much as you can abuot the firm so you can at least appear to be enthusiatic about it.

Good luck.

I was guided to expect either a Chicago office visit next week or participate in the upcoming Super Friday in a few weeks. As I'm an experienced candidate (1st year associate in corporate finance, valuations). Any advice on how to prepare?
