I'm right in the middle of studying for my GMAT's, but I wanted to get some input on the current state of my admissions profile.
Extracurricular Activities:
Peer tutoring
Youth Group Leader
Current Work History:
19 Months
Undergrad GPA:
3.33 (Corporate Comms)
Target Schools:
UCLA, NYU, UH, UTexas
Target gmat score:
700+
The GPA is what's really killing me, but I'm not entirely sure to what degree it will hurt my chances. Also, what else could I pack on to beef up my application

Little more detail on your work history. 19 months of what? Waiting tables? There is nothing you could pack on that won't look packed on, if you know what I mean, so don't bother. Perhaps up your involvement in your current activities and lead a specific project that you can talk about, but anything new will be obvious BS.
what is UH? Houston? i'm guessing you meant harvard?
are you working in IB? if not, you probably need another year of work experience before you apply.
your gpa is a bit below the mean gpa's of the programs you listed, but definitely falls within the 80% range. what kind of school did you go to? mba admissions takes the caliber of your undergrad into consideration.
your gmat of 700+ will make you competitive for all of of those programs as long as you have adequate work experience and put together a good application.
i would say that harvard is a stretch ucla is a maybe nyu is a maybe texas is a probably
you should consider other programs like UNC, Duke, Georgetown and UVA

Agreed, Houston just wants to take your money. The MBA degree is almost exclusively a brand name thing. And even then, most employers will still put a LOT more weight on your work experience. Which is why places like Harvard demand sweet work experience. They're not about to have their brand ruined by a bunch of morons who can't get hired. You need to stay at work for a bit longer to a) have a chance to get in anywhere decent and b) have a chance to actually get hired by someone you'd like to work for and will pay enough of a salary to pay off your considerable student loans. Dude, even though your GPA isn't holding you back as much as you think, your best chance is to invest a few bucks in some GMAT tutoring and ace that thing. I'm talking 750 and up. Some schools out there are real GMAT whores (cough...Columbia...cough) so you should try to make that your ace up your sleeve.
