How do I handle this situation?

I need some advice on my sophomore summer internship.

I have an offer from a large HF in a back office position. However, I have been talking to a MD of a MM bank, and I would greatly prefer a position there this summer.

The MD tentatively offerred me a position last week. He said something along the lines of "worst case scenario we could have you on in an unpaid capacity spreading comps etc." He told me that he would take the weekend to think about what his intern needs would be for the summer and get back to me early this week.

I followed up with the MD today (just shot him an email letting him know that I need to figure out what my plans are for the summer by this week and that I am still very interested).

I haven't heard back from him yet, but I assume he is pretty busy.

I guess I would just like some advice on how to handle the situation. If I don't receive any information tomorrow should I call him? Send him another email?

I don't want to get too distracted chasing this internship and lose out on my other offer.

Any input is appreciated. Thanks.

Yeah brah, let him know you're serious about the position. Tell him kindly you would like to know if this offer will materialize because you would like to accept but are exploring other options. Something along those lines, word it however you want. Just don't come off like a desperate turd or a pompous dick

be professional and to the point. Tell him you'd like to work for him and are excited about the opportunity...I'd call, it is easy to avoid an email, a phone call gets you either a yes or no and cuts out all the bullshit

its one way or the other: hate me or admire.
