How to follow up after company presentation

I attended a company presentation and networking eventy by Nomura at my university today and got an analyst's and the HR lady's business card.

I am only a first year student so I will apply to their spring insight program and the hr lady told me that she does review all the applications from my area for it, and that the decisions are simply made based on cv and cover letter.

So I had quite a nice talk with her and got her business card, but I don't really know if there is any sense in following up with an email because it is just the spring insight program and the application process for it is not that complex.

So what do you guys think, should I try to remind her of me before I apply and if yes, how should I do so?

Network is the name of the game. Ask intelligent questions for which you actually want answers. It never hurts to get your name out there (in a good way of course).

I would first and foremost send a thank you email to both of them and then maybe inquire further about Nomura. Make sure the answers to the questions aren't on their websites. This is a good way to make sure that your name is recognised by the HR people.
