How to get into this industry with only sales experience and no degree currently
I am 29 years old and the only thing I currently have is ad sales experience. I do not have a degree nor did I attend a prestigious university to get my measly 54 credits I currently have under my belt. So the question is with the way things have changed so much in this industry how do I even start to try to make my way into it?
I have really started to follow the markets and the financial news a lot more over the past two years but obviously that is not enough. I tried scouring Craigslist for potential broker jobs to at least have a starting spot. But it seems like all those jobs are scam companies or at least companies that have bad reps. But then again in today’s day and age who doesn't?
So am I completely shooting to high here? Or can someone tell me just what my plan of action to start toward a career in the financial world is going to take?

Your first step would be
Your first step would be learning to use the search function.
First of all, what industry?
First of all, what industry? Are you talking trading or investing or just being a stockbroker (yeck)?
Easiest way would probably be to go back to school and finish your degree.

If your strength is sales
If your strength is sales then trying to land a position as a broker is probably your best bet. Show them that you have raw sales skills, and they will be fine with that as long as you know what the DOW and the S&P stand for.

I agree with this weirdo.
Under my tutelage, you will grow from boys to men. From men into gladiators. And from gladiators into SWANSONS.
Apologies if this is in the
Apologies if this is in the wrong area or for not first just searching the forum via search as was mentioned. Classic noob move here I guess.
I am looking to try and either sell stocks or become a trader eventually. Are stockbroker jobs even that viable anymore? I have heard how technology is totally killing off that job title. What degree field should I be trying to get with that as my goal, finance, economics?
