I was looking at the class profiles at top MBA programs (ie Wharton and Harvard) and noticed that a large percentage of the admitted class had humanities or social science majors. Does this mean that these people just went to top ivy league schools and majored in a social science (such as econ) because there was no option of finance? Can someone who went to a top MBA comment on the usual humanities/social science major in the top MBA program? Are they usually econ majors or are there a lot of sociology, poly sci, etc. majors?
Thanks

I go to a semi target (think Mich, UVA, Texas) and want to study liberal arts. I was wondering because I am going to a school with a business program, how this will affect my chances of getting a job and later getting a top tier mba. I just wanted to know if there are a lot of liberal arts majors in my situation that get into top MBA's and jobs...

Econ is a social science as
Econ is a social science as is a neuroscience oriented psychology program, they are both more rigorous than business or sociology. That said at UT/Mich/UVA you are better off in their b school for undergrad.

Undergrad doesn't matter that
Undergrad doesn't matter that much. Just make sure you have a couple of standard math classes so you can show you know some math. Then get an internship and you're set for the most part.
at Sloan some classmates
at Sloan some classmates received conditional admissions pending on them passing some econ summer courses (dont know if that includes finan and accounting courses). I don't know whether they are engineers or humanity kids. I bet humanity because otherwise most of the class would be taking summer courses which isn't the case.

Geopolitics or Political Economics sound like they may be up your alley.
