Humanties major MBA

I was looking at the class profiles at top MBA programs (ie Wharton and Harvard) and noticed that a large percentage of the admitted class had humanities or social science majors. Does this mean that these people just went to top ivy league schools and majored in a social science (such as econ) because there was no option of finance? Can someone who went to a top MBA comment on the usual humanities/social science major in the top MBA program? Are they usually econ majors or are there a lot of sociology, poly sci, etc. majors?

Thanks

Why does it matter, this is a serious question.

The answer to your question is 1) network 2) get involved 3) beef up your resume 4) repeat -happypantsmcgee WSO is not your personal search function.

I go to a semi target (think Mich, UVA, Texas) and want to study liberal arts. I was wondering because I am going to a school with a business program, how this will affect my chances of getting a job and later getting a top tier mba. I just wanted to know if there are a lot of liberal arts majors in my situation that get into top MBA's and jobs...

hmmm

Keys to success; Major in whatever you want....high GPA....know your stuff....network....kill the interviews you get....dominate your job.....do ECs....kill GMAT.....Strong essay's and recs.....Top MBA.

Or you could work as hard as you can and let life come to you and stop worry about 7 years from now?

Specifically, what kind of liberal arts do you want to study?

Here to learn and hopefully pass on some knowledge as well. SB if I helped.

kevinm295I was thinking of majoring in either political science or history

Geopolitics or Political Economics sound like they may be up your alley.

Undergrad doesn't matter that much. Just make sure you have a couple of standard math classes so you can show you know some math. Then get an internship and you're set for the most part.
