I'm going to be an analyst next year and I was wondering...

in addition to having fun and enjoying the rest of college, since next year is obviously going to be a grind, do any current analysts have advice on how to best prepare for next summer. Is there anything that you did to prepare or wish you did that you thought would be helpful for someone in my shoes. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot.

A bit of advice every single analyst and higher gave me: you're going to realize fairly early on in your career that, once you start working in finance, money will not be an issue. Rather, it's time that you'll find yourself forever short of. If you've been planning a backpacking tour of somewhere, go do it. Traveling would probably be most fun, I'd say.

I have to agree with the above. The one thing I had wish I had done was travel more. I'm happy that I kept my grades up while still in school as it will be useful when applying for B-School; However, make the most of your free time between graduation and work. Go to another country, see all your friends. You may not have the urge now, but once you start, you'll long for spending weekends visiting friends or the like, simply because we always want what we can't have. Do not hold a part time job during winter or take on an internship in the spring. Money will not be an issue, so be sure to get off the couch and do what you enjoy.
