Investing Vs Underwriting in DCM/LevFin/Commercial Banking

Bankers,

If someone works at a Debt Capital Markets Group (at Credit Suisse or Morgan Stanley or DB) as an Associate and helps raise debt capital for a client then is he underwriting debt ? (My guess is yes)

If someone works in Golub Capital and makes a Term Loan B investment of say $5mm in a manufacturing company - it is investment. Right ? And this is not underwriting. Right ?

yes.
