JPM Private Bank SA - Latin America
Anybody have any insights into their Latin America group, or JPM's private bank in general? Also, as to what to expect in a short phone interview?
Thanks

Career Resources
Typically, as a PB analyst, you will either be placed on a regional banking team or on a product team. As this is specific to the LatAm region, I'm guessing it's going to be on their banking team.
Within this, you can be placed on the banker side or the capitol advisor side.
Type of work you do on either of these teams...
Banker side - assist in the prospecting of new clients, put together books for client meetings, etc. Capitol Advisor side - assist the capital advisor in analyzing a client's capital structure (duh), assisting in the creation of liquidity for the client, etc.
Hope this helps. PM me if you have more questions.
I'll be interviewing for JP LatAm private bank summer internship, are the interviews for this specific role in Spanish or english?
Sorry for the double post... to address the interview stuff...
First interview will be all behavioral. Important to know about what's happening in the market and why you are interested in PB/PWM. Try to have your own thoughts as well as the commentary that is already out there.
Thanks for the info cupainoman.
It appears many sources have confirmed that the first interview is a screen to see if the applicants know the role, are truly interested, articulate, et cetera.
When you say market, do you mean primarily equity markets?
Yeah - that's basically what the first interview is for. To put it bluntly, it is for HR/analysts to screen and see if you're actually worth coming up to campus/bringing to the office to talk to.
Markets - equity markets are a good place to start. Knowing about what is going on in the economy is aslo very important. Finally, having an idea about how economic news can impact the equity markets is good to know also.
When answering these questions, I also like to break it down by region. Obviously all of the markets are intertwined, but being able to talk about multiple regions is good for the interview also.
Basically, read bloomberg, cnbc, reuters etc and you will be fine.
Final round coming up soon. Any advice?
Thanks.
Derivs did you get the job? I am applying for the same position this summer and was wondering if you could provide me with some insight on the final interview and if you got the job how was the experience overall?
Greatly appreciated
