...went to awesome parties while you were studying in the library.
...got good grades while you slaved for a c (because their fraternity may have had a test file).
...got all of the chicks (because what chick whats to hang out in the library on a friday night?)
...and now can reap the benefits of a network (as I'm sure you do when you cold call all of your alumni that are nice enough to put their phone numbers in the school database)...

Let's be honest.
...went to awesome parties while you were studying in the library.

Summary: Joining a frat entails trade-offs just like anything else.

I'm in a top fraternity at a target school.
Honestly, it will afford me no useful contacts in banking. Elsewhere in life? Maybe.
And most of my brothers do not excel academically. But there are a couple overachievers in every pledge class.
I haven't met a fraternity brother in banking yet. Most bankers I know are affiliated with business fraternities.
