Hey guys,
I am kind of in a weird situation here. I have mandatory military service that I need to serve for my home country and I am currently an international student. So, if I haven't finished this mandatory service yet would it be a huge problem for SA recruiting? If I were to get a FT offer then they will have to sponsor my Visa and I have heard that this might be a problem for individuals from countries who have to serve in the army. Hope some people can shed light on this.

While I was in banking, I
While I was in banking, I knew a number of analysts and summer analysts who had performed mandatory military service for their native country. I think the most typical approach was to get it out of the way somewhat earlier on during or before college, and then go through the normal recruiting process. Others, if I recall correctly, might have summered in banking and then tried to defer their full-time offer, but I think this is more rare and difficult to do.
Most of the big banks are willing to sponsor visas today. During the TARP era this was an issue but I think that's mostly a thing of the (not too distant) past.
I've completed my military
I've completed my military service and I made sure to do it as early as possible. Just so they wouldn't draft me while recruiting or working (do look into if you'll be required to serve a couple of weeks a year for X number of years afterwards). Make sure you get some leadership experience while there and you can spin it better then a 'President of XYZ'-school club.
Good luck and stay safe.
