Masters of Finance- UT Dallas

So I'm currently a senior graduating in about a month and I have yet to secure a full time offer. I'm a finance major from a top 15 school that isn't a target. Since it is so late in the game my options are decreasing and I wanted to know if anyone knew something about University of Texas-Dallas' MSF program. I'm not sure what type of finance I want to get into but I'm leaning towards banking or private equity and I also want to settle in Dallas. Should I just continue to look for jobs or start considering a MSF from UT-Dallas?

I would do both simultaneously -- people may drop their offers for different/better opportunities and banks will need to fill those spots. Similarly, if you are accepted you to MSF program you can always drop out (assuming you do before classes begin) and you will only lose your time and application fee.

The program at UTD is only a couple of years old. I think its only in its 2nd or 3rd year right now. It has a decent amount of recruiters for its undergrad and MBA program, but none for front office Ibanking I think. It really depends a lot on what you want to do, and what position you want it to set you up for. It has 4 different concentrations, financial engineering, risk management, financial analysis, and one other that eludes me right now.

The school of management has their own career services, and are dedicated to trying to help you find something, but again, wether or not that "thing" is fulfilling will be determined by what your goals are.

Another thing you may want to know, is that the program is SMALL. I it had less than 10 people this year. This means you get a lot of personal attention, and a lot of the professors have their connections in the local business community, and as such, may be able to help you land something.

I am not really sure what your question is. I think you can probably look for a job and attend classes if you want. Having UTDs career services can only help your process.
