PWM Cold Calling Etiquette

I'm a freshman looking for a summer internship in private wealth management.

I've complied a list of 20+ PWM branch offices in my general area. I have a phone # for each and a branch mangers email for a few.

What is the best way to go about securing an internship? Would you recommend I send some emails first, asking if any there are any internship opportunities available? Or would it be better to just call the branch and ask whoever picks up the same question?

Don't want to seem like some kid begging for a job, even though that is essentially what I am, I guess...

Ive also gotten transferred to voicemail a few times. I got 1 call back out of 4 or 5 voicemails. I'm going to call back the places I left voicemail to about 4-5 days later. Diligent, but hopefully not irritating.

Don't sound too analytic or demanding because, after all, it is PWM. You will be doing BO work. This is from experience... not downplaying the gig at all.

this is very possisble, my first internship was at ml pwm and it was my soph yr. i saw the posting and called the guy just saying i am interesting in learning more about the internship...just pitch urself and it will work. yes, it was unpaid, yes will have nothing to do with M&A but use it as a first step internship
