Moderation/Content Management Idea

Delete all threads asking to rank schools, banks, roles, teams, etc. if the poster does not have offers. Yes, I realize they can lie about this but at least it will reduce the amount of these threads that get posted.

disagree. what if someone is trying to decide which company/area to pursue because they want to go to join the BEST bank/group/school and they want to plan accordingly to get in there????

Apply, interview, get an offer and then we can help?

Guise, guise, GS TMT or MS M&A I just want to plan accordingly.

808I agree with the concept of consolidating these types of threads in some way, but what about kids who are considering which colleges to apply to, for example? I don't know if this is the best way to do this.
This isnt really what I'm talking about. Its more the 'I'm a sophomore and I was just wondering how would you rank these groups" bullshit that is fairly common.

Yeah, I see what you're saying. What about all the other categories of inane posts? Are we going to do the same with school ranking requests? I just don't think this is something you can effectively moderate. SB for the idea, though; I don't know what's with all the monkey poo.

SB to even you out.

I am not sure if it would be better to try to limit those types of posts, or just designate a certain area for discussion. I think the threads about school rankings can be constructive, though many are not. The group/industry/firm posts are rarely insightful though, and there seems to be more of them lately.

Maybe there should just be a separate forum for monkeys to sweat that stuff...
