Delete all threads asking to rank schools, banks, roles, teams, etc. if the poster does not have offers. Yes, I realize they can lie about this but at least it will reduce the amount of these threads that get posted.

I agree with the concept of consolidating these types of threads in some way, but what about kids who are considering which colleges to apply to, for example? I don't know if this is the best way to do this.

Apply, interview, get an offer and then we can help?

Yeah, I see what you're saying. What about all the other categories of inane posts? Are we going to do the same with school ranking requests? I just don't think this is something you can effectively moderate. SB for the idea, though; I don't know what's with all the monkey poo.

I am not sure if it would be better to try to limit those types of posts, or just designate a certain area for discussion. I think the threads about school rankings can be constructive, though many are not. The group/industry/firm posts are rarely insightful though, and there seems to be more of them lately.
Maybe there should just be a separate forum for monkeys to sweat that stuff...

I haven't noticed too many of these threads. When they do come up, I just don't click on them. That's one of the reasons the mouseover summary blurb was implemented -- to give you an idea of the content prior to clicking on the thread.
