I want to start networking for a bulge bracket internship position next summer.
Now I know applications are due next January, so do you think it would be kind of early to start networking?
I was going to start asking MD's for information sessions. Or would it be better to contact analysts?

It's never too early to start
It's never too early to start networking. Cast your net far and wide.

"Network now?" Network
"Network now?" Network always.
Who are you going to believe, me or your lying eyes?
Networking is really nothing
Networking is really nothing more than making friends. Do you intend to hold off on making any new friends until the start of next semester?
Just saying...
Gotta be honest with you, I
Gotta be honest with you, I looked at your past posts and you are definitely not getting a BB internship anytime soon. Your grades are mediocre and from what it looks like, you have no experience. Don't set your sights too high, you'll only end in disappointment.
Also, if you think you're the only kid asking MDs and analysts for information sessions, you are horribly mistaken
Strong first post, dude. It's
Strong first post, dude.
It's just a job that thousands of people are employed in. It's not like I'm trying to become President. Lol. Some people on this forum exaggerate way too much.
"Strong first post." you
"Strong first post." you awarE?
The difference between successful people and others is largely a habit - a controlled habit of doing every task better, faster and more efficiently.
Absolutely start now if you
Absolutely start now if you can. I started networking the summer before my eventual internship and it helped a lot.
I wouldn't start out by contacting MDs though. It is hard to get through to them let alone set up informational interviews with them. I would contact analysts and associates. Besides, MDs usually don't decide summer hires analysts and associates do.
