Networking Question - Rising Senior at semi-target

Rising senior at semi-target. I have been networking extensively for FT recruitment this fall, and have been reaching out to alumni bankers this summer since June. Have had many informational interviews via phone or in person, and most of them went very well.

My question is, FT recruitment starts within a couple weeks. How can I use these contacts to land interviews? Their firms will have resumes drops and will be conducting info sessions on campus, but obviously I don't want to blatantly ask for a interview/job.

Mergers and Inquisitions suggests sending something along the lines of: “With recruiting approaching, I wanted to see how I could best position myself for an interview at your firm.”

Is this too direct? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
