Failed transactions on resume
If I was working on a buyside transaction advising a bidder that didn't win the asset (for ex. Heinz or saks) and it isn't public knowledge that the bidder is involved (or my bank is advising), am I allowed to phrase the transaction experience as "advised consortium on potential acquisition of Heinz" on my resume? Thanks!
I think that's probably too far. Best to put advised consortium on proposed acquisition of $xx bn consumer products company or something

If I worked on a large sell-side engagement for months that fell apart at the 11th hour and the company then decided not to sell, would it be appropriate to still put that on my resume as a "not completed" transaction?
Bump
Yes, just don't list the company names.
Advised on ____(A)____ on sale exploration of ______(B)_______
(A) List company name if potential sale was disclosed (pre-falling through). List short description otherwise. (B) List percentage of company being sold, carve-out division, or specific asset(s).

Can you put on your resume the live deals you were working on (as far as the information can be disclosed I guess...) even if they're not yet closed or will failed?
In other words, if you worked on live deals but you won't be there for the closing or it failed, can you still put that in your "Selected Transactions" section if you worked a lot on these?
Thanks!
dude you are a fucking idiot thats material non public information.
If you don't put the name of the companies involved or any identifying information. Like if you said "1.5bn acquisition by an oil company" and happened to mention the oil company had a MV of $300bn, it wouldn't be hard to realize that's XOM.
But if you put like.. Consumer retail company's 740m divestiture of subsidiary, you should be OK.
What if the deal is already public, with filings and so on? Can I put the details?
