Now that everyone's in economic shit, should we watch what we say on FB now?

I browsed through all my friends on FB tonight just to get an idea of where everyone is and what they're doing. Apparently, I'm one of the few people lucky enough to have even a NORMAL- paying job, not to mention a very lucky and well-paid one.

Back when we were in college years ago, we would randomly fire off updates without second though about "too much wine", getting a new car, going off to vegas for spring break, buying a $1299 plasma tv for our dorm suite (even though it came from our own job money), installing a wine dispenser in our dorm's shower, going off to some expensive lounge on a saturday night, etc... these were all posted without second thought and most people either thought they were stupid or laughed along with us.

Nowadays, my college friends, from ivy league to state school, are posting updates like "ugh, day 217 still unemployed..." or the most recent one, "no job for 11 months. interview tmrw; crossing my fingers" or a slew of my state school friends currently working at $20k jobs barely making it.

SO, with that said, should we watch what we say on fb now? i know its JUST FACEBOOK but there are quite a number of people on there i do care about and dont want to make them feel bad. perhaps we should all refrain from posting about our $5500 winter Cancun vacation or that bottle of champaigne we bought tonight, yeah?

opinions?

Yes, you're fortunate you have a job.

Yes, you're fortunate you have a job that pays well.

Shut the fuck up, thinking you're some baller who's gonna purposely censor himself so he doesn't expose his "$5.5K" vacations to his plebian friends.

Shut the fuck up. You aren't there yet.

Don't worry about whether you should post a stupid facebook status about your money. Worry about whether you'll have a job in 6 months.

Right on!

You can't decide for yourself if you should or not? IF you're the only one balling what's the fun in that anyway (but you not balling yet so having a job is no biiggie...you not getting laid tonight if you just gonna tell a girl that you got a job...sooo Shut the fuck up)

Do what you want not what you can!
