I need to somehow get from NYC to Boston in one night. I have to leave NYC after 8 pm and arrive at Boston before 7 am. I have checked the train and airplane schedules and I have found nothing. Does anyone know what I can do?

jetblue flies JFK to BOS.
by eric809ejetblue flies JFK to BOS. Also check continental from EWR.
There is an amtrak train that leaves in the middle of the night.
The buses are a very cost efficient way of getting from one city to another.
If you're a little more flexible with cash, the US Airways shuttle is highly recommended. One of the few joys of flying left. Nice lounges in both LGA and BOS, with Bloomberg terminals at LGA. Frequent flights, flexible scheduling. Taking it this weekend. First class upgrades confirmed both ways, $89 tickets.
There is a 9pm LGA to BOS on weekdays. 6am shuttle arrives at 7:03am. How tight is your schedule?

by dvd56xI prefer Amtrak. It goes from city center to city center so you don't spend an extra 50 dollars or so each way on cabs to and from the airport. The trains are also pretty comfortable.

by REAGANRULEZactually was a great experience for me on multiple occasions. The wifi can be slow at time but the drivers make great time and you can't beat the seats.

I love the kayak.com recommendation. I've just started using it too for my flights needs. Anyone else have any other recommendations?

You could shave off 30-40 minutes (more on high-traffic days) by taking 90->84->95.
Take Bolt.

It's $1 more than Fung Wah or Luckystar - More Spacious - Free Wifi/Power - Nicer Buses.
I wouldn't advise flying; I've done it before. By the time you get through security, board ~30 minutes before your flight, and travel there, you really don't save that much time.
