Password Requirements

Is there any reason why the password for this site needs to have a capital letter, number and symbol? It's annoying... Trust me, no one is going to try and hack someone's wall street oasis pw, and if they do does it really matter?

I guess you would know if someone is going to try to hack an account. Does it really bother you that much that you needed to make a thread? Or was it because you had to change from your usual password from 123456?

I suspect the requirement may be to prevent Bot programs from automatically creating accounts and spamming the forums. Believe it or not, the site gets a ton of spammer bots and a number of them make it through every now and then. Deleting these posts can be incredibly annoying.

How does a requirement that you have a capital letter, number and symbol in your password stop bots? The bots can create passwords that meet this criteria. And don't the picture boxes with partial scrambled letter/numbers that you need to enter when you create an account stop bots?
