PE Deal Sourcing Interview/On-the-job advice

Hi all,

Hoping to receive some insight on several points as enumerated below. Note: Other posts on the topic did not discuss these questions in detail.

1) What (finance/market research) knowledge/skills would be expected of a candidate at a PE sourcing job? What about an interview? Is it the typical IBD type questions?

2) I understand that much of the position will likely be cold-calling. However, what knowledge/skills of finance/market research is necessary to perform well on-the-job?

3) What is the compensation for MM PE FT positions of this nature (Assume, e.g. 80% sourcing to start)?

Thanks!
