PE/HF Interviews During 1st Year of IB
I've heard that it is typical for 1st year bankers to begin interviewing for PE/HF about half-way through the year.
How do you do this without angering the bank you are at (doesn't seem like they would be happy that you are taking off days to interview)?
Also, are they generally angry if you want to pursue this path rather than continue in banking?
Everyone knows that people do banking to move to PE/HF, so no they wont be "angry" at you but I dont think you should advertise the fact that you are going around interviewing elsewhere. Say you are going to lunch, or the doctor, or dentist, or something other than an interview and then pray you don't get called by your MD in the middle of it.
What if it takes all day?

halfway through 1st year? Why would a PE firm interview someone halfway through 1st year if they can interview someone with another year of experience and pay them the same?
