Popping the question

So, I've networked quite a bit. Made about 10 phone calls to people. Some of them were really helpful and pushed my resume to an extent. With some others I got friendzoned.

My question is, how do I get them to push my resume, both on the phone or after the call has taken place? Like should I be up front and say, "I was wondering if you could maybe give my resume to HR," or something along those lines. Or should I be more indirect, maybe say, "Do you know who I should give my resume to?"

Same questions apply if I'm emailing them afterwards.

Ask if they know who is the head of so and so desk/division and if they could introduce you to them. Avoid HR or networking is pointless.

I have the same problem with networking, I have no problem with getting in touch and talking with people about the company/opportunities, it's just the 'closing' part where I feel guilty asking straight out if they can pass my resume on to someone.

BTbankerI don't think asking the HR lady to marry you will get your resume to the stack.

I beg to differ. It depends on the HR lady, if she is ready to get hitched, you might be lucky. LOL
