Purdue isn't that bad, it's up there with the Big 10 schools. I don't really think it matters that much what college you go to, just present yourself as someone who knows his shit and isn't socially retarded (which most of those fags in Ivy League schools are since the majority of them are a bunch of hardcore dungeons and dragons anime faggots who spend all day on the computer in their dorm rooms, fuckers couldn

RogueBanker, as you will find out, where you go to school matters quite a lot in the recruiting process. Also, most of people at Ivy schools do not fit your stereotype.

i have to agree that your school definitely matters. while you may be able to get into banking from non-target schools, it's definitely a lot harder to get the initial interviews.

for the comments, I realize that school matters alot due to the fact that alums and relationships carry a great deal of weight. Just wanted to see if anyone's out there and in the mood to dole out some advice. Thanks again to all who replied!

Yes there are several Purdue alums in banking. I would be happy to help. Whats your question?

They'll hire from Purdue. Krannert is gaining recognition as a good b-school, though I think its mostly on the ops side (part of an engineering school) and not so much finance, but I could be wrong.

(yes, I know you're talking about ugrad, but there's carryover... look at all the banks that recruit at IU)

there are actually Purdue banking alums here? Thanks for replying, I thought it was kind of a longshot to find some people that could help. I am pretty much just interested in how to obtain interviews/how the interviews go. I'd like to know especially from a Purdue alum's experience because it seems difficult to get an interview from a non-banking school such as Purdue. If you can, I'd love to be able to hear more from you and your experiences, email me at [email protected]!

You degenerate!! Purdue's way up there with the rest. Be it Engineering or the B-School, its a big recruitment site for a lot of banks. I know of so many Purdue Engineers as IB associates and higher. I just happened to come across this post and I just had to nod my head in pity. 'Pszeto' keep your chin up man and keep hammering away...somethings gonna break. Nil Desperandum.

Michigan is better than ND, Chicago and NU, I don't care what the rankings say.

Agree with scott, I'd rather go to Madison and party my ass off for 4 years than go to ND.
