Sandler O'Neill - Tearsheet (urgent)

Lurker for a long time, first time poster. It would be super helpful if anyone can give a bit of insight into the inner workings of Sandler O'Neill. Some general points that would be super helpful are: - Culture - Hours - Pay

I did my fair bit of research on exit opps, and noticed that a lot of their people end up heading to GS FIG. Any opinions on the normality of this, or should I write those off as anomalies?

A bit of background, I would be lateraling from a FO banking position of a non-top foreign bank.

Thanks a ton!

-Culture and Hours: Terrible, consistent 90-100 hr weeks; almost no pitching and all execution (tons of dealflow) -Pay: Below street base but higher bonus potential

Overall: Top notch FIG shop with grueling and long hours and a rough culture. You'll close deals and get a ton of exposure across capital mkts and M&A. Will look amazing for future FIG type opportunities

My ex-Sandler friends used the words hours and culture synonymously so I think they could be equally bad.

Either way, if your current place has little traction I think it's worth making the leap, especially if you're at a large foreign bank. Another thing to think about is whether or not you're okay with staying in FIG
