No, definitely do not. But I love skoal and snus by camel.

One night when I was working on a deal with an analyst this summer, a VP in my group came over and asked the analyst for some. The analyst opened his cabinet and pulled it out, then gave some to the VP. I think genearlly people don't do it unless it's late at night or their office door is closed.

that always had a dip in at work...I usually put mine in after everyone left or on the weekends. I was always amazed that during phone conferences when one of my superiors put a chaw in.

Dipping has nothing to do with where you work.

Sure it does... because I'm going to guess that it's a southern thing, thus, most people talking about this are working at second-tier places such as Walk-all-ova-ya or bofa... have never encountered any NY bankers who dip... at least not at work.

Alot of NY bankers dip at work. I probably worked at a much less prestigious firm than yours, though, b2. So that would make sense why you've never encountered it.

But actually, I don't see it happen until late at night. People generally do it to stay awake, not to get their nicotine fix. And it has a lot to do with group culture. We had a pretty tight knit culture. The analysts in my group had so much dirt on everyone else (or participated in it with everyone) that I doubt seeing someone dipping would have any effect on their level or respect for someone.

I just figured maybe people did it to relax or it gives them something else to do along with work. Most people pack lips when their bored, I do.

I'm sure at some of the top places people dip but my guess would also be late at night.
