Ok so my dress code is business casual but with a tie for 4 days of the week. I am not really used to wearing a tie without a suit but I guess I will have to buy ties.
Can someone estimate the number of ties and shirts that I should have?

Hit up the department store and by the pre-boxed shirt and tie combinations and then knock em' dead slick.
nothing strange with that dress code. You can wear a suit everyday if you'd like (and own) and it just stays on the back of your chair. Good thing about a tie is that it adds a lot of options to your wardrobe. You can wear the same shirt with a different tie and completely change the look
Assuming you're an SA, get 4 or 5 dress shirts and 4 or 5 ties. Friday, wear a sport shirt. Boom.
