Top firms for illiquid asset valuation?
Anyone know of top firms, specifically well-known boutiques, that specialize in the valuation of illiquid assets/securities? Or BB divisions?
I was thinking it might be a good way to enter HFs down the road.

Not sure how marketable that skill set will be since you'll essentially pigeon hole yourself into a VERY VERY small segment. Generally structured products or an exotic derivatives desk would be a good place to be... with exotic derivatives (especially on the fixed income side) being very quant heavy and more transferable a skill set.
Anyone heard of these guys or aware of their reputation? Pluris Valuation was on the sponsor list for the upcoming Dow Jones PE Analyst Conference in NY.

You definitely don't want to work at a valuation shop if your end goal is HF/PE... whether thats trading, buyouts, growth equity or distressed debt... thats not where these places look.
