Transition to AM/ER from MBB DACH region

Dear all,

I am a 2nd year consultant at an MBB shop, looking to transfer to ER/AM (buyside as long-term ambition). Currently, I am looking for ways on how to manage the transition. Therefore, I would really appreciate any advice from you regarding the transition process.

You would really help me a lot via sharing your experience or opinion on the MBB --> AM recruitment/transition path.

You probably already know this but the path of least resistance is probably to stay where you are for another yr or two and get into a top MBA program.

If you don't feel like doing graduate school twice then your best bet is probably knocking out a couple levels of the CFA and sending out good stock pitches. Having an awesome stock pitch is a lot more an important than knocking out level 1 of the CFA.
