Undergrad Student struggling
I'm a current undergrad student, and I've been in a big slump. I just moved back to southern cali where I was raised to go to school out here, and I had a job in place (although it was crap retail), but they still haven't contacted me. At this point I've given up on that and decided I need to get a job that's going to set me up for after school. Here's the issue: I have no idea where to start. I figured an accounting job wouldn't be a bad idea (in fact probably a great idea), but I would be completely entry level. I'm in my second year of school, and I'm striving to start something better for myself in order to better myself. All of the "entry level" positions anywhere seem to still require either a bachelor's or 1-2+ years of experience…which doesn't seem very entry-level to me. Any advice/help/insight/knowledge would be immensely appreciated. I'm hurtin' bad.
"Internship", brah.... you need an internship. Accounting might be the easiest to land, and will give you a solid foundation. You will likely have a hard time bargaining for an entry level position without a degree.
agree with above. you should be looking for internships and not entry level jobs requiring degrees (Entry level typically assumes you are a college graduate). I also wonder if you could possibly transfer into a good California public--it would really help with OCR.
