Urgent Offer Decision
I'm a sophomore at a non target. I have two choices for the summer:
1) Paid HF ($3B) Internship that will continue through the fall semester. It pretty much back office work, but the culture is great and there is a pretty good chance that I gain additional responsibilities as time goes on (Not very structured). Limited hours which is nice ( I only have 1 summer left)
2) PE FoF Internship at a boutique. It's really small so the pay system is a kinda weird, only a bonus at the end depending on how you perform. Work is very legit, but hours are demanding.
I have to decide pretty quick, but any advice would be great.
Thanks
(Long time poster, but made a new account for this.)
Tough call. Bear in mind that a lot of hedge funds are a lot smaller and responsibilities are less well defined. A lot of newer folks will start off with back-office responsibilities.
Since I've been in the capital markets, my preferences are more towards the hedge fund. And it seems like you might enjoy working with the people there. I would recommend the hedge fund, but that could just be my own preferences speaking.
Id do the HF but close call shrug for me the deciding factor is being able to work in the fall
