Whether large firm or not,
Whether large firm or not, trade support for wealth management is going to be small retail trades, if you learn the process well enough I would try to move into trade support on an institutional desk, where you could get experience with more asset classes and get access to real traders. Then of course switching into a trading role is the ultimate goal. This job probably pays 40k, very operational, but could be a way to get your foot in the door.

Very ops oriented. Not too exciting. I don;t know if you could transition to an institutional desk.

I think it depends on the firm. At a small shop, you might get a shot at moving towards the FO, at bigger shops it will largely depend on culture.
You should ask about this during your interviews. If they say the transition to FO is normal or has been done you're good. If they're offended you'd even ask, that job probably loses a lot in terms of outlook. If you sense that they would let you transition to being analyst/PM, I'd say take it. Combine that with a CFA and you'll be familiar with risk management and research, both essential for a good PM.
