If your GPA is 3.7, feel free to send out your resume to any bank. I currently work at a BB, have been at 2 other BB's in the last 7 years and am responsible for hiring and managing my group. Some people are big on pedigree but I personally would rather take a 3.7 from DePaul than a 3.0 for UPenn.

If you know someone at a BB, don't be shy. Give your resume and have them try to give it to the right people. Last few people I hired were not from IVY. they graduated from Penn State, Mellon, Rutgers, G-town.

Don't be discouraged by talks of not being able to get into a BB. That's crap. With that said, some banks such as Goldman love pedigree and a Stanford, Harvard resume almost guarantees you get in. FYI, most senior management aside from Goldman are not from Ivy.

anyone that tells you that BB is only reserved for Ivy is full of crap and themselves.
