What kind of pressure should one expect in S&T?
It`s common sense that one of the basic requisites to succeed as a trader is to be able to work under pressure. But what kind of pressure? I could at least divide pressure into two different groups:
1-) Being under pressure while your boss/a coworker is constantly looking at what you're doing (for instance, staring at your screen while you do your job).
2-) Being under pressure because you have highly demanding goals to achieve or constraints to respect (time, schedule, etc).
Being able to handle one type of pressure does not necessarily imply being able to handle the other one. For instance, one could be really comfortable dealing with pressure #2 (it could be even a stimulus to him) but terrible with #1 (when being watched, one could spend half the time wondering what the other person is thinking about him and the other half with the actual task).
So, what to expect in S&T (especially as a Trader)?
2. Its all about the performance.
the pressure is more about being able to think clearly and make accurate decisions under time pressure and uncertainty.
For example, try to play 6 online poker games at once, calculating outs/pot odds etc.
all about the PNL
I'd say both, #1 is particularly relevant when you're a junior. You'll likely have a ton of freedom, but when asked why you are doing/did do something is always there especially when you're new to everything.
