What's the absolute worst that could happen...?

What's the absolute worst that could happen...?

What are some possible repercussions of a summer analyst asking out a full-time HR chick? What if she says yes and they date?

Obviously if things sour it'll be a mess. I can also see FT offer chances vanishing in negative scenarios.

If everything goes normally, would the stigma be enough to sink the SA? Is there be a negative perception upon a SA who dates an HR chick?

The young HR chicks are only 1-2 years out of college, so there's not really a large age difference or anything...

Not really a problem at all.

Not really a problem at all. They won't be deciding who gets the offer. But where are all the hot HR girls at my bank?? I'm jealous.

Just ask.

As long as you don't creeper-out if she says no, you'll be fine. If she says yes, well then. Go head', sizzon!

Why risk it when you should

Why risk it when you should be focused on getting an FT offer?

There are plenty of attractive, available women in NYC.

Don't sh!t where you eat

yea...

if it was a few years ago, when you would have had 3-4 FT offers just because you were an SA at one of the BB's, I would have said go for it, but in this market...i'd probably get that FT offer secured before i decided to piss in the company pool.

If she says no, it won't

If she says no, it won't hurt you because she'll still be flattered that you asked.

The worst that could happen is that she becomes your girlfriend, then you cheat on her and she tells every one of her HR friends at BBs to infiltrate the pile of resumes and throw yours out.

if you got caught stepping out on your hr girlfriend, and she was a spiteful whore, I suppose she could also accuse you of sexual harrassment, and thus have you blackballed.

I would not risk it

It's not worth it in a market like this. Why bother when you really need summer internships for FT offers in this market? In all likelihood nothing will happen but I still wouldn't do it if you're concerned at all with getting an offer.

It might also result in a bad reputation, word spreads pretty quickly around the office.

And what self-respecting HR

And what self-respecting HR girl would date a summer? Surely they could get themselves a higher-paid, harder-working and more desperate-for-companionship full time analyst. Plus there wouldn't be the issue of the kid going back to college for a year.

Doesn't sound like a match made in heaven.

Swanky idea. I think it's

Swanky idea. I think it's ballsy, plus it gives you someone else to hang out with outside of the SAs and FTs you'll work with on a daily basis. Having an out always helps with that kind of gig.

Now... unless you go to school in NY [or <>] and work in NY over the summer, don't bother. A summer relationship will suck if it's only for 12 weeks, esp. if you connect and you aren't reasonably close to NY (By reasonable, I mean you attend college in NYC or are within 40 minutes - 1 hr by train to manhatten [Ex. Princeton or Rutgers New Brunswick]). Now... if you were close, locationally speaking, I'd say go for it with no reservations. If things become serious, it doesn't turn into an Long Distance Relationship and those can be destructive on people. Boy do i have stories on that subject to tell...

All said and done though, do it if you feel it's a great choice to make. Best of luck to you.

yeah...that girl is hot as all hell. i've never seen an HR chick that fine, but who knows. if something like her exists, then that's one situation where i'd probably be willing to put my internship on the line and go for the goal...and by goal, i'm not talking about a FT offer
